Suzanne Vega"s songs have tended to focus on city life, ordinary people and real-world subjects. She continues her journey back through her illustrious songbook with "People and Places", the second volume of her superb four-part thematic collection, The Close Up Series. With her native New York City serving as a constant inspiration throughout her work, Vega acoustically reimagines twelve gems on this second volume, from the career-defining songs "Luka," and "Tom"s Diner", one of the most instantly recognizable pop songs of the past 40 years, to the quietly stirring emotions of the classic "Queen and the Soldier," as well as "The Man Who Played God" written with Mark Linkous and Dangermouse. Pressed on 180 gram heavyweight black vinyl.
